H&M

I wanted to become a fashion model but ended up in fashion retail instead. Over 13 years and seven brands later, I decided to join Alshaya (a year and a half ago) in order to be part of the H&M brand and to be part of the group, which is a giant in the retail industry in the Middle East.

Having worked in various capacities with other retail companies in the region, I must admit that Alshaya is the most professional organisation of the lot. I was given the opportunity to develop my analytical skills and to learn documentation processes here.

I was part of the H&M brand when it was launched country-wide in Kuwait. That experience was simply superb. Where else can you get such exposure? Every day since then has been a learning and development process for my career.

Among the more memorable moments at H&M are when the Roberto Cavalli collection was introduced in H&M stores across Kuwait and customers wanted these desperately. We reached a point where we had to sell the clothes straight off the mannequins! That apart, of course, H&M attracts pretty girls of all nationalities and having them around you all the time is an added bonus.
